How do I order a Persephone
book?
Persephone Books are available by
mail order or from book shops. You can order books
online from each book page. Just browse our books
section (with the navigation panel on the left),
find a book that you want to buy and fill in the
short shopping cart box to be taken to our online
purchasing area. If you want to buy a book but
not online you can ring us on 020 7242 9292, send

Is it safe to use my credit card on the
internet?
Yes, as safe as using it anywhere else.

Can I buy Persephone Books from a bookshop?
Yes, ask your bookshop to place an order with us.

Do you have a catalogue?
Yes, please contact us to ask for one, and
for the latest copy of our free magazine the Persephone
Biannually. You also can look at the complete
list of our books on the website.
How much do Persephone books cost?
£10 each or £27 for three.
How much does it cost to be a Persephone Subscriber?
To have one book a month arriving through your
(or someone else's) letterbox every month for
12 months costs £132; or £66 for six
months. To order a six or twelve month gift subscription
click here.
We do a special offer whereby every single Persephone
Book can be delivered to your door in one large
box by courier. Please contact us for details.
Please telephone if you would like a special
offer on a smaller number of books, say twenty,
or if you are part of a large reading group.
How much is postage and packing?
In the UK - £2 per book or CD.
Europe and Eire - £3.50 per book or CD.
Airmail to anywhere in the world - £4.50 per book
or CD.
Surface mail to anywhere in the world - £3 per
book or CD.
Books books bought in the shop
will remain at £10; books
bought from us by mail order will be £10 (or three
for £27) plus £2 postage ie £12 each
or £33 for three; but books bought from bookshops
will cost £12.
How long will my books take to arrive?
Within the UK your books should arrive within 4 days
- but often they arrive the next day. No matter how many
books you order, we send them out in individual padded
envelopes that fit a standard letter-box, thereby avoiding
the dread 'while you were out' note from the post office.
Airmail takes three days to Europe and five days to
anywhere else, whereas surface mail takes a week to Europe
but can take up to four months to other destinations.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept payment by all credit cards over the
phone or on the website. We also accept cheques. To find

Do you have a wrapping service for presents?
Yes - this costs an extra £2 per
book. 
We will wrap each book in pink tissue paper
and tie it with silver ribbon.
A card saying 'Best Wishes', 'Happy Birthday', 'Thank You' or a
blank card, is included in the price. Please say which
card you would like when you order - put this in the
'Additional Info' box.
The matching bookmark for each
book comes tucked under the silver ribbon.
If required, the envelope can also have a 'Do not open
before..' sticker.
Please put any requests for gift wrapping
in the 'Additional Info' box when you check out. Make
sure you have been
clear about which book you want wrapped, the message
we should write in the card if any, and what the address
of the recipient is. You will not see the extra cost
added to your final total when you check out, as it is
calculated separately.

Do you sell your own book tokens?
Yes, they cost £12 for one book including UK postage
or £33 for three. We can send book tokens to recipients
with a copy of our catalogue.
Cards: 'Best Wishes', 'Happy Birthday', 'Thank You' and plain cards
are 50 pence each (these are free with a gift-wrapped
book). A ribbon and a card costs £1. Our bookmarks
and postcards, David Gentleman's The
Victorian Chaise-longue and 59 Lamb's Conduit Street, as well as Few
Eggs and No Oranges, also cost 50 pence, plus 50 pence postage
(for any number of items).
