This week we are continuing the Persephone Post Advent Calendar theme. Images of Christmas puddings are two-a-penny in December, but it's not often we come across a mosaic version. This is just one small detail of the extensive mosaics in the portico of the National Gallery created between 1928 and 1933 by Boris Anrep (1883-1969), a Russian émigré artist with close connections to the Bloomsbury Group.
