Imagine receiving this from Henri Matisse. Matisse's correspondence with artist and caricaturist André Rouveyre (1879-1962) consists of more than 1,100 letters, many of which arrived in beautifully decorated envelopes. The fact that Rouveyre lived only a few hundred metres from Matisse in Vence did not preclude such artistic epistolary flourishes.
