This week on the Post we have interwar British architecture, prompted by reading the posthumously published Interwar: British Architecture 1919-39 by Gavin Stamp (1948-2017). In this extensive and wide-ranging survey, however, he includes just one building by a female architect: the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre (1932) in Stratford-upon-Avon by Elisabeth Scott (1898-1972). So we shall be filling in a few gaps.
