Striped Lily (1946) by Gerald Cooper (1898-1975) was one of the series of School Prints produced in the 1940s, and is still available. Cooper was noted for his meticulously painted flowers in the manner of the Dutch Old Masters. The striped lily is Hippeastrum striatum; modern amaryllis varieties have equally eye-catching flowers and the bulbs are easy to grow indoors in winter.
