At the other end of the scale from the elegant Georgian terraces of Bath are the classic two-up, two-down Victorian red-brick terraces built on a tight grid system to house workers in industrial towns and cities. This is Bennett's Corner in Stockport,(1956, Herbert Art Gallery) by Alan Lowndes; it is similar to the vividly described outer-Manchester terraced housing occupied by Ken and his mother in Out of the Window.
