At the end of the Stevens' garden in Dulwich is the 'Railway Embankment', so when they set off on holiday they catch a fleeting glimpse of their own home, and the "panorama" of neighbours' gardens which they rarely see. This reversal of view-point makes train journeys fascinating, in the same way Melissa Scott-Miller (b1959) paintings are; this is her 'Back gardens in autumn, Islington' (2016).
