5th October 2026

We have five female artists who created striking, graphic linocuts in the 1920s and 1930s on the Post this week. All were taught or influenced by Cyril Power and Claude Flight - very suitable names for the modernist, dynamic style they championed - at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art. First is Kiosk in Paris (1930s, Government Art Collection) by Swiss artist, Lill Tschudi (1911-2004) who lived in Paris and studied briefly in London before returning to Switzerland and continuing to work with lino.
