Sadly but almost inevitably the 2012 film of Madame Solario was not actually filmed at Cadenabbia. According to an interview with one of the actresses here, ‘for the outdoor filming the main location was Villa Monastero in Varenna [seen here] and also Villa Serbelloni, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso and a private villa in Bonzanigo.’
