When something in the home works well, we hardly notice it. But when it doesn't do its job, it attracts attention for the wrong reasons. Having struggled recently with recalcitrant door handles, this week on the Post we have examples of door furniture which does function well. This beautiful, traditional mechanism was designed by Edwin Lutyens, and can be used to open doors in Goddards (1900), one of the exceptional houses he designed, now a Landmark Trust property.
