DH Lawrence once wrote in a letter, "I got the blues thinking of the future, so I left off and made some marmalade. It's amazing how it cheers one up to shred orange and scrub the floor". We couldn't agree more; although not everyone is cheered by cleaning the floor, there is no doubt that making marmalade is soothing and rewarding at times of stress and uncertainty.
