The Colour Room has a happy ending for Clarice Cliff (Phoebe Dynevor) and her boss, Colley Shorter (Matthew Goode); in real life they married in 1940. After the phenomenal success of the 1930s, her later designs were more conventional, and over time 'Bizarre' wares fell out of fashion. In the 1980s, though, her work once again became highly collectable, often fetching high prices at auction. The Clarice Cliff Collectors Club was founded in 1982 and continues to be an important resource.
