Many readers will remember having their daily dose of vitamin C in rosehip syrup when they were children. During WWII rosehips were a vital source of vitamins, and there was a huge drive to encourage volunteers such as Scouts and Women's Institute members to gather them from hedgerows. All that goodness is still there, but mostly unused. This is Still Life of Daisies and Rose Hips in a Vase with a Book (1904, Arlington Court) by Rosalie Chichester (1865-1949).
