Those (few) people who can manage to block out politics from their ‘normal’ life will be pleased to know that this week on the Persephone Post will be totally politics free – because it is quite hard to link puddings and politics (though Eton Mess comes to mind). The recipes are taken from Len Deighton’s marvellous Action Cook Book (1965) and today’s recipe is in honour of yesterday being Stir Up Sunday (Toby Fairbrother on The Archers last night did not know what that is, which confirms that he is an idiot).
