There was a great sense of solidarity at our Persephone event yesterday (the film of Madame Solario) and very interesting chat over madeira afterwards. Also Gloomsbury on Radio 4 (yesterday morning, while the scones for the event were baking) made us laugh – out loud and properly shriek – for the first time since November 9th, Today’s recipe is self explanatory (though it’s a challenge buttering bread on both sides ) – be assured, it’s simply delicious.
