This is Vanessa Bell in 1915 wearing an Omega Workshop dress of her own making. Charlie Porter describes it a world away from the "pointless effort...the excess, the hierarchical messaging, the waste of time" of the garments she had worn before 'Bloomsbury'. What cannot be seen here is the "wild and glorious" use of colour which she applied to her fabric designs. We have used several Omega fabrics as endpapers for our books including William - An Englishman, Katherine Mansfield's Journal, and No Surrender.
