Next spring, Persephone Books will celebrate its 25th anniversary, as well as the publication of its 150th book. In honour of this, there is going to be a Persephone Festival from Friday April 19th until Sunday April 21st, 2024.
The Persephone Festival will consist of three days of events, based at our Bath shop and a few other venues across the city, including talks, panels, book groups, literary walks, film showings, concerts, and tea parties. Some events will focus on themes in Persephone books, such as the home, émigrés, single women, textile design, motherhood and World War Two, while others will celebrate our authors, including Dorothy Canfield Fisher, Marghanita Laski, Mollie Panter-Downes, RC Sherriff and of course as many about Dorothy Whipple as we can manage.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet other Persephone readers over tea and cake and discuss these previously neglected books that we love and admire so much.
