The patterns on yesterday's Post are painted in Evelyn Dunbar's trademark palette, a mix of warm, earthy, natural colours. They can be seen here, in the beautifully observed 'A Canning Demonstration' (1940, IMW). Evelyn Dunbar recorded many women's contributions to the war effort, and was the only woman working for the War Artists' Advisory Committee on a full-time salaried basis.
