This week on the Post it's the turn of the female artists of the Newlyn School. Stanhope Forbes settled there in 1884 and his name often dominates accounts of the group. But his wife  Elizabeth Forbes (1859-1912) was an artist in her own right and co-founded their school of painting in Newlyn, although she is mentioned only in passing in many accounts. The lovely 'Blackberry Gathering' (first exh. 1912, National Museums Liverpool) gives a clear idea of her talent.
