Edwin La Dell's work is in the Royal Academy Collection and the Government Art Collection, in the Tate and the V&A, yet he is an almost forgotten artist. His subjects, style, and techniques are very much of their time, and this is what makes them interesting. He published a series of Oxford and Cambridge lithographs which includes King's Parade (1959) in Cambridge. It is both instantly recognisable and a snapshot of a time when it was peopled by mostly undergraduates and locals, and not filled with crowds of tourists.
