The timing of this last week (above) was perfect, so this week on the Post we continue with the subject of knitting. There was predictable faux 'outrage' when Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, was filmed ('caught' as some articles put it) knitting a sock during a speech by Ursula von der Leyen. However, as long-time knitters will know, it's perfectly possible to knit and give your full attention to someone who is speaking in a meeting or on the radio, to carry on a conversation, or to watch TV or a film. This article in the New York Times explains that knitting may in fact improve focus and concentration, not diminish it.
